We are visiting Sitting Knitting

We are very excited to be doing our first woolly trunk show of the year!

We will be visiting the lovely Rachel at Sitting Knitting at her yarn shop in Sutton Coldfield.

We will bring with us from Devon a selection of our yarns, scrummy tops, and some socks

It will be the first ever outing for the complete range of ‘Harvest Hues’ … a fingering weight Merino yarn blended with our local Zwartbles wool. The natural dark brown Zwartbles in the blend creates a rustic and buoyant yarn.

Also making its first appearance is our Alpaca Delight fingering weight yarn … a super soft yarn with a beautiful drape when knitted. The colour range includes some lovely pastel to compliment the natural shades.

We will also be taking along some trusty stalwarts … a selection of colours from our beautifully blended Viola range, our Alpaca 2-3ply heavy lace, our Exmoor sock yarn (made from our local sheep) and our Zwartbles range in 3 natural shades.

Bath Christmas Market

Those of you who have received our new catalogue you will know that we are having a chalet at Bath Christmas Market. And would have also have received the 10% off flyer for anything purchased at said chalet that can be found inside the catalogue. If you haven’t had one yet, please request one HERE.

We are so excited to get snug in our chalet (number 93 in York St, near the Stall St end). We will be filling it full to the brim of all our lovely socks and making it all Christmasy.
Bath Christmas market is fantastic … loads of wonderful chalets and tasty foods. We will be coming along with loads of Seasonal Cheer to share.

Over the last few weeks we have been enjoying planning how to line the walls top to bottom with all our cosy socks! We will be bringing all our staple sock styles with us…

We will be proudly showing off our brand new re-designed and extra soft Alpaca Bed Socks in the lovely new pastel colours… this will be their very first outing. They have been revamped with more colour choices and redesigned for a more cosy fit. We also now have certain pastel colours available in size 8-10 as well as the usual size 4-7!

We had so much fun when Lydia, Meghan, Amy and Agnes came and they have written an amazing article about their 24 hour action packed fun Friday with us. And we had our first Mill Members come and visit the brand new show room AND have a mill tour! A couple of those visiting had even won their free membership in the raffle at the Open Weekend. A group of splendid ladies and one lovely man, who were on a camping holiday and they had all brought their spinning wheels along for a grand spin-along around the campfire. (HOW GREAT IS THAT!?)

Open weekend… hurrah!

Firstly, thank you so very much to everyone who came to our Mill Open Weekend and made it such a special event!  We all had a fantastic time and hope you all did too…

It was so wonderful to be able to spend a couple of days letting you lovely folk have a look around the Mill where all the magic yarn and top making happens!  We hope you had a fabulous time and got to know a bit more about our process and some of our fibre secrets!

We are now back into normal Mill mode.  After having a tidy up and finishing off the cakes, we are prepping for Proper Woolly, our next show in a couple of weeks!

Anyway, here are a selection of images from the weekend.

Spun and knitted by Amanda

Having a look through Ravelry as a knitter does in the evening in front of the fire, i came across Amanda’s work in the ‘Proper Woolly‘ forum, ( a show coming up in Devon) and saw a beautiful piece of work by a lady called Amanda.

Amanda has brought The Three Supreme tops at a recent show and been busily working, spinning and knitting it, into this fabulous shawl!
