For quite some time now John has been hankering after a new Gill Box to enable us to produce more yummy tops at our Mill. One of John’s most favourite machines, they are an integral part of the process that makes our luxury Tops blends second to none. You have to be top of the Tops (sorry, could not resist the pun!) to be let loose on and operate these lovely machines at the Mill.
After much deliberation of what to call our new Merino/Zwartbles browny/green top, made exclusively for the secret Mill Members page…

Firstly, thank you so very much to everyone who came to our Mill Open Weekend and made it such a special event! We all had a fantastic time and hope you all did too…
It was so wonderful to be able to spend a couple of days letting you lovely folk have a look around the Mill where all the magic yarn and top making happens! We hope you had a fabulous time and got to know a bit more about our process and some of our fibre secrets!
We are now back into normal Mill mode. After having a tidy up and finishing off the cakes, we are prepping for Proper Woolly, our next show in a couple of weeks!
Anyway, here are a selection of images from the weekend.
Here is John, surrounded by a group of eager top lovers first thing in the morning!
We are now all set up and running again proper at the new Mill. Our machinery has all been re-vamped and improved, so production is more efficient than ever – it’s very exciting!
After much heaving, hauling, tinkering and many long hours, our new mill is finally up and running!
We have been chattering about moving our mill from Tiverton to South Molton for quite a while now. The move was long overdue, and in addition to cutting commuting time in half, puts us much closer to Mole Valley Farmer’s (everyone is particularly happy about this!)
