Come see our cosy & colourful Yarndale stand!

We’re bundled up in woolly garb and sipping hot chocolate because the Autumnal chill has started (as it is now the end of September, don’t you know), but, happily that can only mean one thing – Yarndale is just around the corner. This marvellous Yorkshire show is one of our very favourites. For one weekend the Skipton auction mart is bedecked with woolly bunting and transformed into a haven of textile delights..

We’re particularly looking forward to this specific Yarndale because here we will unveil our swanky new show signs. Cornish artist and fairground sign writer extraordinaire, Amy Goodwin, has created some spectacular Mill inspired hand painted signs for our show stand. Please find a sneak peak of Amy’s work in progress below and click here to take a look at her website… for those of you unable to attend the show, we’ll make sure to take some photos to share with you next week!

We are visiting Sitting Knitting

We are very excited to be doing our first woolly trunk show of the year!

We will be visiting the lovely Rachel at Sitting Knitting at her yarn shop in Sutton Coldfield.

We will bring with us from Devon a selection of our yarns, scrummy tops, and some socks

It will be the first ever outing for the complete range of ‘Harvest Hues’ … a fingering weight Merino yarn blended with our local Zwartbles wool. The natural dark brown Zwartbles in the blend creates a rustic and buoyant yarn.

Also making its first appearance is our Alpaca Delight fingering weight yarn … a super soft yarn with a beautiful drape when knitted. The colour range includes some lovely pastel to compliment the natural shades.

We will also be taking along some trusty stalwarts … a selection of colours from our beautifully blended Viola range, our Alpaca 2-3ply heavy lace, our Exmoor sock yarn (made from our local sheep) and our Zwartbles range in 3 natural shades.

Yarndale unpacked…

We are finally unpacked from Yarndale, and what a fab show it was! We love Yarndale and the beautiful Skipton countryside.

We took along brand new yarns and tops to show you lovely folk… our new Merino / Zwartbles colour blended tops, with samples of the brand new yarn range of the same fibre blend family ‘Harvest Hues’. It is designed by Frankie of the mill (Francesca Hughes) and the small initial run is currently only available to Mill Members, on the secret page. However it does feature in the new catalogue (coming soon) and will be on the website for all to have a look at come early November.

Top Tastic Fibre East

What a blast we had at Fibre East … we camped, got rained on and had a fabulous show.

As always, it was great to see everyone again and catch up with projects in the planning and just completed.

A lovely customer – Adrienne, who often visits our stand at shows, has finished her blanket that we have been longing to see for months!

A whopping 3.5 Kg worth of Knit By Numbers yarn was used to create this amazing piece!

It looks totally wonderful…

We are now back from Woolfest and unpacking. What a great show. We always enjoy Woolfest and we stay on a lovely little smallholding where there are shetland ponies, horses and a dog named Belle!

We launched a brand new Knit by Numbers colour at Woolfest – a bright raspberry pink base, down to the lighter gradients.
It is now available on our website as well.

And if you have a shadecard without these colours, no.62, 63, 64, 65, 66 and 67, and would like a strand to make your shadecard complete please e-mail Juliet and let her know and she will send the shades out free of charge (juliet@jarbon.com)

Here are a few images of our stand at Woolfest if you didn’t make it. It was great to see lots of returning folk and meet some new people there too.

This lovely lady brought over her hand spun and hand knitted shawl she is working on. The fibre was our Alpaca Supreme in fawn…

…She was one among many who come to show us what they have been making with our fibre/yarn.
We do love seeing the creative things you have come up with, so always bring them along and show us!

A Special thank you also to the splendid lady who brought us 2 days’ worth of delicious cake! So many different types of cake and so little time! Sorry to the customers who caught us red handed with mouthfuls of yummy cake!

Towards the end of the show the organises came round and awarded us with a rosette of loveliness! We were chuffed, so thank you!
