Our Mill Open Weekend – Show & Tell Round Up

We want to start by saying a massive woolly thank you to all of you who popped by our Mill Open Weekend a couple of weeks ago. It was such a joyous event with much laughter and nattering, ’tis always a real treat to open our doors and welcome you all inside our Mill! Tea and cake were scoffed, Tops and Yarns were fondled, Machines were admired and mountains of limited edition goodies were cooed over and taken home as souvenirs… We hope that all of you who were able to attend had as much fun as we did.

And, all us Mill folk had such a fab time that we have decided to do it all again next year … so, for your diaries in case you fancy another visit, or want to experience our woolly home for the very first time: The next Mill Open Weekend dates are Sat 6th & Sun 7th June 2020

#LoftAlong with Fay Dashper-Hughes!

Here at John Arbon Textiles, we love Fay Dashper-Hughes‘ approach to design – frequently offered in both crochet and knitting versions. We are amazed and enthralled at the way she creates magic using both techniques!

Fay is not only a designer, but also host of the Crochet Circle Podcast (click to see the latest episode on YouTube or hear it on Podbean).

She is also a fantastic person – it is rare that a yarn show goes by without Fay popping round for a natter, and often with homemade cake which is a welcome gift!

So when Fay told us she was planning a Crochet / Knit Along (see below for the full info on this C/KAL rules) for her latest design, Loft we couldn’t resist joining in the fun! Loft (pictured below) is just gorgeous – and we hope you’ll think about joining Fay and us in making your own version.

Drum roll…. The Winners!

At our Mill Open Weekend we asked people to bring along things they had made out of any of our products (ie: yarn spun from our tops or textiles knitted with our yarn or animals made with our socks, etc, etc).
Each person who brought along something was given a raffle ticket and entered in the prize drawer, with the winners (10 from each day) getting a Free Mill Membership.
We were so overwhelmed with all the lovely things you brought along, that we decided to pick 11 winners from each day (so 22 in total).
John and Becky drew the raffle tickets out of a fibre can a couple of days ago…
