Merry Christmas!

With the holidays fast approaching we are busy festooning the tree whilst slurping mulling wine.   But we wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very very Merry Christmas, and thank you so much for your continuous support and encouragement throughout the year.  We wouldn’t be able to do it without you!  May you forever be surrounded by woolly wonders and have warm and cosy feet.  Merry Christmas.

Return from Edinburgh

We are now catching up spinning yarn after so much went to new homes at Edinburgh Yarn Festival. Wow, what an amazing show.

We would like to thank Jo and Mica for putting on such a great event and being such good dance partners! We had a ball at the Ceilidh – we danced as much as our little feets allowed – not also the correct steps I suspect, but we were full of enthusiasm!

Happy 2017!

Hello woolly lovers and welcome to 2017!!
We have been very busy at the mill so far this year … we have started the year tweaking a couple of naughty machines (they are feeling much better now) and are at this moment in full production spinning up a fresh batch of Knit by Numbers ready for Unravel and Edinburgh yarn festival.

Unravel is the first show of the year and we are excited to get back into show season. You can find more information about it here.

We will bring you more info about Edinburgh Yarn Fest over the next few weeks!

But for now, we had a lovely weekend at the York Guild of Spinners Weavers & Dyers (21st Jan). John gave a talk about what he gets up to at the Mill (and told some impromptu jokes as well!). Of course we took along plenty of yarns and tops! And had a wonderful time. Thank you to all the Guild members for looking after us so well.

Hope to catch with all you woolly folk at a show / event during this year and hope your New Years have started with a little less machine craziness than ours!

Behind the scenes!

We thought we would share some behind the scenes photos of our catalogue photo shoot with you!

With massive appreciation to Juliet who organised like a busy thing and brought the whole catalogue together.

Ray who took the stunning sock photos and great mill shots.

Cicely who came to be our assistant for the 2 day photo shoot (and turned out to have a great eye for lighting!)

Frankie for yarn, top and mill photos. And for being sock model extraordinaire.

And to Adrian for doing all the wondrous graphic design and layout!
