Well, it was a week ago today that John, Juliet and Emily set out for Unwind in Brighton with a van full of yarn…
As we mentioned in our last post, Unwind is fast approaching! All of us at JA Textiles are super excited for the approaching weekend and what is shaping up to be a fabulous new knitting event!
Some of our favourite knitters from around the globe are going to be there, and we are happy to be bringing along our favourite Canadian, Emily! To be fair, she is the only Canadian that we know, but I’m sure she’d be our favourite anyway…
Emily is going to be giving a talk on Sunday morning at 10 am about the grand knitting adventure she has had since she moved to England just over 2 years ago. She left her successful yarn dyeing business (Viola) back in Canada, and came to work in our mill – the adventure has carried on from there. If you are interested in hearing more of her story, do visit her on Sunday morning. Who knows, it may inspire your own knitting adventure?!
We are going to be bringing along with us lots and lots of the beautiful colours Emily has designed. At the mill, spinning has been full steam ahead getting a fresh batch of Viola DK merino ready for the show. If you’ve been on the hunt for some, this is the time to scoop up a few skeins, or a whole jumper’s worth! Emily has been planning a cabled pullover for ages now…but deciding on a colour is proving to be rather difficult.
That’s all for now, must return to the spinner. We are looking forward to seeing lots of happy knitters over the weekend, so do say ‘hi’ if you are visiting Brighton this weekend!
Happy knitting (and crochet, of course!)
